This is the first season that I've used this on my older puppy. I've been looking for a safe, natural alternative to some of the chemical sprays and topicals. This stuff does work. The day that I received it in the mail, I found a couple of ticks on my pup, one tick was almost bloated and the other was crawling on his fur. I removed the ticks and put them in a small jar and squirted a tiny bit of the spray into the jar. Within seconds, (like one or two seconds!) the ticks stopped moving. I sprayed my pup carefully and he didn't get any ticks on him for about a week. I spray him about every week. Since using this stuff, he hasn't had problems with blackflies, ticks or mosquitoes, even though our yard has been heavy with them this season. The smell isn't too bad (smells like sweet cedar), but that's a given for any herbal spray. On a recent hike to a pond, we came across another family with dogs who said to us, "be sure to look for ticks, this trail is full of them!" Well, we continued on the hike and didn't find one tick on our pup (who sniffed every plant and bush). We did find several on our pant legs though!CONS: My only big complaint is the pump device. It's a "finger" pump that makes spraying pretty difficult/tiresome, especially when you're spraying your pet liberally. It becomes a pain to spray, because it's only your index finger that pumps the spray and your finger will soon cramp up. This company should provide the product with a full trigger spray, like those found in other pet spray bottles on other products. The trigger spray will allow more of your hand to do the pump/spray work instead of cramping up your index finger. Once you try the spray, you'll know what I mean. The first time I sprayed my pup, my poor index finger cramped up for the rest of the day. I quickly made due by switching out the finger pump with a trigger pump from a competing product. CHANGE THE FINGER PUMP! Other than that, This stuff does work!
