Its a pretty fine tooth comb, so it works on my Malinois well, but not so much on a poodle (unless the poodle has been THOROUGHLY de-matted). You would expect that from any flea comb though. One of the teeth bent when it hit a snag but it was easily bent back into shape and none have fallen out. While my dog had fleas it regularly got them out with no problem.It was easiest to comb and then wipe/kill the fleas between each stroke, or they would have a chance to jump back on.
