Permethrin 10% 8oz Review

I bought this product to soak my clothes in permethrin before traveling to Laos, in Southeast Asia; this keeps the bugs away. I have done this before with other formulations and so wasn't really sure how well this one would work. On the (very) positive side, it didn't have a smell, like the other products I have used, which was a pleasant finding. Nearly all the time during my 3-week trip, I was wearing at least one dipped clothing item, often two. Although it was the end of the rainy season, I hardly noticed any mosquitoes and maybe received 5 bites total the whole time. I did use other repellents applied to my skin at times, mostly on my feet and ankles.
Don't buy those expensive "Buzz Off" clothes - just dip your own! That's all they have done with those products, and the effect can last through several washes. Mix up a solution to the concentration directed on the label (I do it in a small trash can lined with a plastic bag, maybe 4-5 gallons) and put your clothes in to soak. I tend to leave it overnight. Then, ALLOW THE CLOTHES TO AIR DRY. That is the critical step! Then you can wash them to soften them up, and the repellent will still work. I don't know how many washes the effect will last for, but I have heard 7-8.
