Bug Check Naturally - 5 lbs (10 mo. supply) Review
My dog is on a healthy raw food diet...puppy-like for a large-breed, 7 year old. He is a healthy dog with no allergies and no complications. I have been fighting fleas on my dog for TWO years starting in 2009!!! I've tried everything that I could get my hands on that advertised itself as pesticide-free...1 Brewer's Yeast and Garlic Tablets: Didn't work at all. Nutritional Yeast and fresh garlic is already included in his raw food diet.
2 Natural Defense Squeeze On: It did not significantly decrease the number of fleas and a lot of times I would wonder whether it was even working at all. Also it started to irritate my dog's skin, and then he would start shedding loads of dry skin where I applied the Natural Defense.
3 Natural Defense Spray: It killed fleas when I would spray it on them, but more would come back. Constant daily management needed.
4 Food-grade diatomaceous earth: I spread it on the carpet and on my dog twice to try to get the different stages of fleas. It only decreased the fleas for a small amount of time and it was very messy. Diatomaceous dust everywhere for a couple weeks, even after a thorough vacuum.
5 Natural Chemistry and NaturVet Shampoos and Sprays: Would only work for a little while, then they would come back, even with a daily spray and shampooing every week. Constant daily management needed. Too much work without much results.
Then I bought the following...
The Natural Vet Pet Bug Check, CedarCide BEST YET Spray as well as a gallon of it for a fogger AND Nematodes. At this point, I was at my wits end and bought all these pretty much within days of each other.
I first started using CedarCide on my dog. It GREATLY decreased the number of fleas on him. I would check him daily and it would be 2 to ZERO fleas combed out just about every time. Prior to that, when using all the other prior products, he would have between 10 and 15 adult fleas on him every day that I combed him.
I then started using Pet Bug Check daily and decreased CedarCide spraying to applying only whenever I thought he would be in a flea-populated environment...running around in the grass or forested areas, or hangin around other dogs. I haven't seen a flea since.
I also bought a fogger and fogged my place with Cedarcide just for extra measure, in case I didn't get any remaining flea eggs.
Now I hardly use Cedarcide (never got to the Nematodes) and use Pet Bug Check in my dog's food daily. Finally the flea war is over. My dog and I won the war! Thanks to Pet Bug Check and CedarCide, we can finally rest and stop scratching ourselves!
